11/7/2023 0 Comments Krita drawing 2017For me, the key to using a mouse is the curve tool. A cheap drawing tablet ($50) does help in some situations. Another thing you can do is work at much higher DPI and scale it down when finished, which will smooth out a lot of imperfections. Inking's easier to do with a mouse because you can zoom in and get a bit more forgiveness with your linework. Either scan the picture or take a photograph of it with a smartphone, then draw over it with an inking brush, with Krita's stabiliser enabled to smooth out the lines a bit. Huion makes decent ones, and Monoprice sells rebranded tablets (and pen displays), usually Huion-based, if you have trouble finding another way to get one.Īnother option is to do the actual drawing with pen(cil) and paper, and then do digital inking with the mouse. This wasn't always the case, but there's a lot more competition in the market now, probably because of patents expiring over the years. If you're just averse to Wacom's prices, you can get perfectly usable tablets from other vendors nowadays. Like /u/boudewijnrempt said, the correct answer is "don't", because it's just not going to give you good results compared to a tablet, any tablet. Stabilizers can help a lot or lots of experience can help a lot, but it doesn't really save the issue with mouse. ![]() Until Affinity and Inkscape gets good gradient mesh tools, Krita seem to be the best choice for 2D rendering on my end. For me, I don't need to use a tablet to generate beautiful looking 2D renderings of products in Krita, but I'm not a typical Krita user, nor I am Krita target market, but it works for me, so. ![]() If he's using vector tool in Krita, I don't see why he should use Inkscape or Designer when brushing using vectors in Krita can help in rendering smooth objects unless he needs vectors, but in most use case, that's not going to help most Krita users. ![]() I am actually using Inkscape as my vector content creation main software, and Designer as a publishing software because Scribus is terrible for now. There's no offset function, that's a first sign that Affinity needs a lot of polishing.
